James "Jimmy" T. Nadell
Chef Jimmy Nadell was born in Chicago where he grew up in the kitchens of many of the seventeen restaurants his mother and father owned. He studied culinary arts just outside of Chicago in Joliet, Illinois under the direction of Claude Kerns and the 1973 Gold Metal German Culinary Olympic Team.
After moving to Aspen for his love of fine food and skiing in 1986 Chef Nadell continued to work in top Executive Chef Positions such as The Caribou Club, Motherlode and The Smuggler. In the late 90s Chef Nadell opened two Italian restaurants in Carbondale; Trattoria Roma and Bistecca Toscana. After selling the restaurants Chef Nadell perused Corporate Executive Chef positions with Eat-Inc and Waterfront Restaurants both with multiple locations from Vail, to Boulder, Denver, New York and down the New Jersey shoreline.
Chef Nadell founded Aspen Private Chefs in 2002 then merged with Conundrum Catering later that year. In 2003 Chef Nadell formed Air-Chef Aspen which catered private aviation at Sardi Field in Aspen. Now Chef Nadell hasnt slowed down yet forming BRAVO Fine Catering, Aspen Culinary Artistry and The Aspen Diet which is a longevity lifestyle diet with a cookbook in the works and a full line of dietary products to be released in 2009.
Future projects include the start up of The Aspen School of Culinary Arts and a fantastic new healthy sandwich shop and deli in Carbondale called Spuds-Subs.
Chef Nadell has worked for such celebrities as Al Gore, Donald Trump, Prince Bandar, Prince Faisal, Robert DeNiro, Paula Zahn, Christie Brinkley, Jon Bon Jovi, Don Johnson, Janet Jackson, Tony Danza, Vanna White, Sylvester Stallone and Will Smith to name a few. He is the recipient of the prestigious 'Distinguished Chef Award' which is a life time achievement award given to three chefs per year internationally from Johnson and Wales University in Miami. You may also have seen chef Nadell as a regular chef appearing on Aspen's Plum TV's 'Morning Noon and Night Show'. |  |
